About The Society

The Genealogical Society of Stanislaus County in August of 2018 celebrated 50 Years!

Our Society was organized in 1968 to bring together people with a mutual interest in Genealogical Research. Other goals were to inform, instruct and educate members in the techniques of research. To increase the genealogical holdings of the Special Collections Room at the Stanislaus County Free Public Library and acquire other materials for community use in the form of reference books, microfiche, and microfilms.
